Beaver Homes

Hidden above a ravine in Beaner's Hollow is the

Wray-Barrickman house of 1835, a masterpiece

of perfectly-fitted hand cut stone.

The Dunlap -Feldman house on Market Stree in

Bridgewater was the home of a river boat captain,

and later belonged to the daughter of a former

slave, Lena Keller. It is being restored by Samuel

Feldman, President of the American Archives

Association.

"Craigbrae", the Chedester-

Wildman house on Division Lane

in Vanport, is reminiscent of the

gracious homes of the deep South.

The Stokes-Steel house above

Seventh Street features a terrace

completely paved with millstones

gathered from abandoned mills

in Western Pennsylvania.
