When checking the route, you notice another tombstone of particular interest alongside the Jacob Weyand Plot ... the grave of the Rev. Joseph H. Bausman, author of the most comprehensive local history. Dr. Bausman's two-volume History of Beaver County, Pennsylvania, published in 1904 by the Knickerbocker Press of New York, is a scholarly work that is much appreciated by local residents interested in history, including those of us from the Heritage Foundation who do the research for these Walking Tours. Dr. Bausman, who was born in 1854 and died in 1924, was minister of the First Presbyterian Church of Rochester from 1887 until 1892.
