(Located on the site of closed Texaco Service Station on Riverside Drive, just a short distance north of its junction with Sharon Road, and next to the house listed herewith as Site No. 4.)
Robert Darragh opened an Inn on this site as early as 1806. It is known that when Aaron Burr, Vice-President under Thomas Jefferson, came to Bridgewater in 1806 to inspect the "Orleans Boats" being built for his projected expedition to conquer Texas from Mexico, he obtained lodging at Robert Darragh's Inn. Aaron Burr also made a speech at a school taught by Darragh at Rochester.
