In 1986 the Society began monthly classes on researching various aspects of genealogy. These take place at the Beaver Falls Library on the first Monday of the month from 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.. The topic for September's meeting is "Research in a Courthouse" and will be held on September 14th from 6:30- 8:30 and is open free to the public. As there has been such a favorable response to these programs, the Society intends to continue them indefinately. Another project has been field trips to places where research may be accomplished. This past summer two were conducted to the Carnegie Library, Pittsburgh. Collection and Preservation is another aspect of the society. Their Record Preservation Service is offered to Churches and Cemeteries, to make copies for their files. Memberships are $7.00 a year and the business meeting is held at 5:30 p.m. on the first Monday of each month (Beaver Falls Library). "Gleanings", a quarterly publication is edited by David and Elsa Hays, 521 Shenango Road, Beaver Falls, PA 15010, and are always looking for previously unpublished works. The genealogical society has backed the Vicary House project 100 percent and has already donated $100.00 toward this cause.
