Genealogical Research in Beaver County Libraries
By Mae H. Winne
Milestones Vol 9 No 4--Fall 1984

During the past several months, this writer has been contacting the local libraries to find out what genealogical material is available in each of the libraries.

Most of the local libraries have very limited genealogical material. I was unable to contact some of the libraries, and some of those that were contacted did not respond.

Limited genealogical material is available at the B.F. Jones Library in Aliquippa. They have Beaver County histories and Aliquippa histories.

The Beaver Library has Beaver County histories, but limited genealogical material. Since this library is in Beaver, the County seat, most researchers find research at the court house more rewarding.

The library at the Community College in Center Township has Bausman: "History of Beaver County, PA. 1904" and also Pennsylvania history.

The library at the Beaver County campus of Penn State University also has a great deal of material for genealogical research. The list is rather lengthy and will be included in the next issue. Also in the next issue we will list the Beaver County resources at Carnegie Library, Pittsburgh, PA.
