A Night in Venice

THE NOSSES IN VENETIAN ACT

For artistic merit, coupled with originality, the specialty of the Five Nosses, entitled "A Night in Venice," was the most appreciated. The scene representing a moonlight night on the Grand Canal, in Venice, and the five performers in old time Venetian costumes were introduced to the audience from a gondola, which slowly floated into view. The act differed from the usual specialty in that the performers did not attempt to render any of the popular songs, but played selections from the best known older operas, and were obliged to respond to several encores. --Milwaukee Sentinel.

A STRONG BILL AT THE CHICAGO

The Five Musical Nosses have not been boomed as the headliners for this week, but their Act is the prettiest, daintiest and most entertaining on the programme. In the first place their stage setting is about the handsomest ever seen here. Unlike most vaudeville musicians they give ragtime only passing notice, choosing their selections from the legitimate compositions. -Chicago Tribune.

KEITH'S THEATRE

The act of the Five Nosses is one of the prettiest stage pictures ever seen here. It is entitled "A Night in Venice," and the setting is a section of the Grand Canal' Venice. The quintette make their entrance in a gondola, attired in picturesque costumes of the fifteenth century, and they give a good musical performance from start to finish. This act is totally unlike any other musical turn, but is just such a novelty as one would expect to find at Keith's.-Philadelphia Item.

THE NOSSES AT THE TEMPLE
Without too great stretch of the imagination, one who attended the performance at the Temple Theatre yesterday and listened to the musical tinkling of the stringed instruments, under the skillful touch of the Nosses, might really have imagined himself, for the time being. transported to the fine old Italian city of Venice. The delicately tinted stage setting, the soft illumination of a moonlight night in the tropics and the brilliant costumes of the musicians, all aided in giving strength to the illusion. This little company is no stranger locally, but so charming to both ear and eye that visits cannot come too often and the applause accorded their appearance showed that thorough merit was recognized. -Detroit Tribune.

THE ORPHEUM IS GOOD

A Clever Bill which Should Draw Well All the Week

The curtain rising discloses a charming set showing a section of the Grand Canal, Venice. The ladies and gentlemen of the family, attired in costumes of the fifteenth century, make their entrance in a gondola, playing a number of stringed instruments. From the opening to the close of their act there is not a moment when their music is not good.

THE EMPIRE: Vaudeville

The three genuine plums of this particular pudding, which they are serving up at the Empire this week, are the Five Nosses, the eight Metz and the Parros Brothers. The artistic gem of the bill is the Five Nosses in their picturesque musical act. The scenery and costumes are Venetian and the blending of coloring and soft music as the gondola glides into view upon their entrance makes a very pleasing effect, which is sustained throughout the act.
