ZEISBERGER

Milestones Vol 7 No 1--Winter 1982

Life of Zeisberger tells of a squaw settlement near the present village of Wampum, on the big Beaver river in May 1770 inhabited only by women who swore never to marry. There were five or six huts inhabited only by a community of women.
