Statistica compiled at the office of Beaver County Commissioners showed that there had been a considerable increase in the number of registered voters in the county in 1928. The total registration was 58,494. Of this number 51,405 were Republicans, 6,435 Democrats, 24 Labor party, 332 Prohibitionists and 298 Socialists.
Aliquippa, since the consolidation of old Aliquippa and Woodlawn has the greatest number of voters, with a total registration of 10,261 Republicans and 154 Democrats.
Beaver Falls drops to second place with 5,690 Republicans, and 432 Democrats registered- Ambridge is third with 4,968 Republican voters and 321 Democrats and New Brighton is fourth with 4,812 Republicans and 420 Democrats. Other valley towns follow: Rochester 3,878 Republicans, 805 Democrats, Beaver 2,869 Republicans and 274 Democrats, Monaca 1,434 Republicans and 270 Democrats, Freedom 1,198 Republicans and 276 Democrats, Midland 1,887 RepubIicans and 11 Democrats. No Citizen who has not paid a state and county tax within two years could vote. The last day on which such taxes may be paid to qualify for the November election is October 6. No tax receipts dated later than November 7, 1926 can be used to qualify a voter
