County Receipts Of 1834 Wouldn't Go Far Today

In view of the figures recently published showing the cost of running Beaver County last year, it is interesting to note for the purpose of comparison some of the items of the County Treasurer's report for the year 1834, advertised in the Western Argus in the issue March 18, 1835:
