Comettsburg was the name of the post office at a small village in the extreme southwestern comer of Beaver County (Hanover Township). There are only two houses at this rural crossroads, the red brick Freshwater house and the stone Ramsey house, called by some historians "The still house". Reportedly some whiskey making equipment once operated in the attic. Nearby, on another road, is the stone "Miles Standish" House.
