Mark your calendars!
Plans are underway for a County-wide celebration of the Lewis
& Clark National Bicentennial from August 31 through September
4 2003. The steering committee is busy planning a host of special
events for this memorable "once in a lifetime" celebration.
Everyone can participate!
Interactive school programs are being offered through the BCHR&L
Foundation which include demonstrations, round-robins, and guest
speakers. Programs are FREE and offered on a first come, first
served basis. Programs can be tailored for a specific class or
an entire school. Call the foundation office today to schedule
a program.
In addition, county-wide poster and essay contests are currently
underway for school-age students. Encourage your children or grandchildren
to learn more about Lewis & Clark and creatively express their
interpretation of this significant exploration. For complete details
and contest rules, contact the BCHR&L office.
A grand event will occur when the Corp of Discovery 2 from St.

log cabin exhibit, horse and buggy rides, a native plant and herb
garden, flag program and presentation, and much more!! Festival
hours are from noon until 3:00 p.m. each day. All activities are
FREE and open to the public. Bring the entire family!! Tour the
replicated pirogue (boats) that Lewis & Clark and the Corp
of Discovery used in 1803-1806. Talk with the Discovery crew members
from throughout the United States and learn about the many adventures

County and across the country.
