TRIVIA ANSWERS

1. McGuire Chapel Methodist Church, orginally started in the old Davis School in 1857 A new building was completed in 1859 by Reverend Latshaw McGuire. The cemetery remaining is near the intersection of Chapel Road and Center Grange Road.

2. Brodhead Road. Formerly Glade Path, now Route 51 it was associated with Colonel Daniel Brodhead after he assumed command of Fort McIntosh. General Lachlan McIntosh constructed this first highway in 1778.

3. The George Baker family settled on land above Raccoon Creek in 1794. The Beaver Valley Expressway crosses the area with the Center K-Mart Plaza nearby.

4. At the North Branch United Presbyterian Church. North Branch Road is one of the original sections of the old Brodhead Road. It is believed it then crossed over Stone Quarry Road near Gee Bee Plaza to Sylvan Crest area then to the Ohio River through a valley opposite the Fort McIntosh excavation in Beaver.

5. Moon. It was divided into Raccoon (1837), Phillipsburgh Borough (1840), Potter (1912), Center (1914) and Monaca Heights and Colona Heights in 1932.

6. A thriving brickyard. Quality bricks came from the kilns on Chapel Road and bordering on whatis now Edgewater Drive. Many homes in Monaca were built with them.

7. All of them. Correct and in the order of succession with the dairy farm sold in 1905. The administration building today is part of the original from the past.

8. Hoffman's Center Pharmacy is a branch of the Monaca office in Center Plaza.

9. The Beaver Valley Mall.
